On Saturday, we welcomed and had a fruitful meeting with the visiting delegation of African Parks in Liberia.
Prime on the agenda for discussion were:
- Strengthening Protected Areas management and capacity
- Exploring opportunities for sustainable financing
- Forest-based livelihood enterprises (Ecotourism)
- Climate finance opportunities and modalities
- Capacity for locals through an Opportunities Assessment around Protected Areas
- Long-term South-South learning exchange within the African Parks network.
At The Nature Compact, we view this engagement is an opportunity and a testament to our strong commitment and partnership with the Forestry Development Authority-FDA and its external partners on the sustainable management of the forests and biodiversity for the wellbeing of the country and its people.
