TNC staff joined Liberia National Tourism Association (LINtA) organizing team to host the LibFest. Over 2000 persons gathered to showcase Liberia’s Tourism Potential, Opportunities and Cultural Heritage and Biodiversity.
TNC hosted a Biodiversity Quizzing Competition in collaboration with Wild Chimpanzee Foundation (www.wildchimps.org), Libassa Ecolodge, Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia - SCNL USAID - US Agency for International Development to raise awareness on the Natural Resources of Liberia and Ecotourism Potential.
It was exciting to see the level of interest and level of collaboration between NRM actors. The Nature Compact was at the heart of it - coordinating the competition.
Three teams were awarded prizes:
1st Prize - Weekend at Sapo National Park Ecolodge (All expense paid for by WCF)
2nd Prize - Weekend Excursion and birdwatching at Lake Piso Multiple Use Reserve (All expense paid for by SCNL)
3rd Prize - Weekend treat at Libassa Wildlife Sanctuary - LiWiSa and Ecolodge (All Expense paid for by Libassa)
