Yesterday, The Nature Compact Team collaborated with Forestry Development Authority (FDA) illegal wildlife and bushmeat trade confiscation unit to create awareness on the Wildlife Conservation and Protected Area Management law of Liberia.
The initiative also confiscated protected species being sold through a Bushmeat Trade Syndicate and publicly burned the animals as a form of deterrence to the bushmeat trade.
In the end, the team Created Awareness and education on African Zoonotic Diseases, One Health, Sustainable Livelihood Initiatives for local communities and Economic Empowerment currently ongoing to discourage Bushmeat Trade.
