Today TNC hosted a special session of the national Community Forestry Working Group (CFWG) at our offices.
Issues around improving stakeholders coordination, support for communities to improve forest management, implementation of the Liberia Forest Sector Process Framework; Standard Operating Procedures of the Free, Prior Informed Consent (FPIC); Communication of the Community Forest Inventory; Finalization of the Community Forest Management Plan National guidelines; Cost Benefits of Conservation, were discussed.
In attendance were the Technical Manager for Community Forestry, The REDD+ Implementation Unit, Partners for Development and the TNC.
We are happy for the resolve to continue to improve communities capacity, facilitate benefit sharing and a clear roadmap if the finalization of the CFMP guidelines to support communities in managing their forests.
